Playstation 3

Incase you didn’t already know, the Playstation 3 has had some updates.  Some much needed ones.  There is a new PS3 SKU!  It comes with a 40 gig hard drive, two usb inputs, and retains everything else in the other ps3’s.  Actually it doesn’t have any backwards compatibility, which is smart, because it will make you have to buy their new awesome games.  I think that most people who are going to get a ps3 already own a ps2 anyway.  The major selling point of the 40gig is that its only $399!  That to me is an amazing value folks, You get a next generation video game system and blu-ray, and they are throwing in Spiderman 3 or BD.  Its a pretty cool movie, worth the watch.  I liked it.  Along with this and the stellar fall games such as Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Orange Box, Assassins Creed, Call of duty 4, Haze, and a bunch more.  The road looks not so bumpy for Sony anymore.  On a similar note, the 80gig with Motorstorm has had its price reduced making it $499.  Yay!

So this is the supposedly official box art for Super Smash Brothers Brawl. What do you think of it? I think it’s lacking a little something. I don’t know, but alot of Wii titles have had some pretty questionable box art and this one might fit in that category. I don’t know, it doesnt seem as epic as the cover of Melee. Wheres the Sonic? Wheres the Sonic? Where the heck is my buddy Lucas at? It seems overly cartoony. I mean where does this stand next to Super Mario Galaxy? That game has some cool box art. Anyways, its like I said supposedly official so lets hope they change it. I know they did the same thing for SMG, they said it was that and then the next week they changed it. So I’ll keep you posted as news comes in. Enjoy and please make some comments people!

Wars In The White Skies

Hey whoever is reading this.  I haven’t written in a while.  Sorry about that.  Consider it my October vacation.  Anyway, The Star Wars PSP is released today or around today, not exactly sure on that one.  Basically for $199 you get a psp and a game.  The psp is a nice ceramic white color with darth vader print on the battery cover area.  Looks pretty cool if you ask me.  The game is Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron.  This game got favorable reviews, but hey those sites aren’t always right.  If you think a game looks cool, then get it.  If I had a psp then I would buy this game hands down.  Its a great update on the previous battlefront games.  The best yet.  Well Do you like this white psp or the silver one?  I can’t quite decide myself.

My Zelda

I have received the Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.  Due to time limitations of my busy schedule, Ive only had like an hour to fool around with it, but so far it’s the best DS experience I have had.  Single player that is.  The games graphics are top noch.  I understand that the DS has its limits, but some games look all grainy and stuff.  This game seems to bypass that with very little bad graphicking.  In other words, it blows alot of other stuff out of the water.  I personally think they should make some 2-d Metroid, Zelda, and Mario on the DS.  Heck, even the Wii.  I was thinking, and wouldn’t 2-d games run insanely fast and smooth on a newer system like those?  I think it’s a no brainer.  I’m going to start a game studio and make 2-d games for the new systems.  Another thing on that note about the systems.  I was realizing how little time is in between each new console.  It seemed like yesterday that the ps2 and xbox etc, were top of the line.  Time just really flies I guess.  It’s been two years since the xbox 360 launched so that’s like another 3-4 right?  I think they should just stick with a system for longer.  I do really love how technology advances, its just a little heavy on your pocket.  I also missed out on staying up all night and waiting in line for any of the new ones.  Me and my fellow blogger, editor, whatever his/our title is, are going to be there next time, in a few or four years.  This has been a collection of things I’ve been storing in my brain today, thanks for listening.

WOOT WOOT!  Here is a step up folks.  It must be release what wasn’t released in the US day because thats what it is.  First off we have what was in Japan rightly Super Mario Bros. 2 (known to Americans as the Lost worlds) and Sin and Punishment, which is for the N64 but was never released in America.  Fist Super Mario Bros. The Lost World.  This was a lot harder than the first and third, and second too I guess.  But it was good.  First time North Americans saw it was in Super Mario All Stars (an excellent game), wait why doesn’t nintendo just release that?  Anyway you should surely pick up this game for 500 Wii points.  Next off is a game called “Sin and Punishment:  Succesesor of the Earth”.  Wow, what a title.  Anyway this game was translated by a fan base called Vanit Studios, but other than that, it hasn’t been in english.  This games higher price threw me for a little curve for a second, its 1200 Wii points, for a N64 title.  The game is a shooter game on a rail (where you don’t actually move the charecter you just jump, sidestep, roll, and stuff like that.)  I’ve heard this game is really good so I might be interested in getting it.  Well it was a good day for fans, I guess Nintendo is doing the best they can, but I’m still not 100 % sastisfied with what they are giving.  But I can wait for Super Mario Brothers 3.  Till then I have plenty of homework to do.

Happy Birthday!

Today marks the day of the 50 millionth DS sold!  This includes both versions, original and lite.  This is truly amazing.  The legendary Ipod just reached 100 million in about 6-7 years, and the DS is already half way there in 3!  I guess if you do the math it equals out but whatever.  I love the DS.  I have to admit that I haven’t played it for a while, but I still love it.  I guess it hasn’t had a lot of play time from me because there haven’t been a lot of great games for it.  Hopefully that will change….oh look it did!  The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass launched today!  This game will rekindle my love for my DS.  It is a DS phat by the way.  I haven’t found any reason at all to “upgrade” to a Lite.  I’m waiting for a third iteration of the DS.  I absolutely love my micro, so hopefully Nintendo will do something similar.  That is all!  Happy 50,000,000 Nintendo!  Heres wishing you another billion!
