Teh DS picolite

Nintendo constantly upgrades its hardware in the handheld market.  Awesome, and it seems that there is a rumor going around that the DS is gonna go into the doctors office and get a remake of itself.  It’s supposed to be lighter, have bigger screens, lose its gba port,  and have more memory in it.  I hope this is true.  I held out on buying a DS lite because I knew that the big N would come up with something better.  The most interesting part is the memory.  I hope that they would allow for VC games to be synced with your DS for some portable retro action.  Or maybe some downloadable gameboy games?  What do you think?  It sounds fine to me although I think it will probably come out after a new handheld comes out.  Sortof like the gameboy micro.  I have a bone to pick with the inevitable new handheld though.  NO more backwards compatibility!  I love the touch screens, but they have to go in the next one.  If they have backward compatibility then they have to have like a DS 2.  I say they make a sweet handheld like the psp with a nintendo touch and not so many sucky games.  Widescreen Nintendo handheld games would make my day.atom.jpg

Xbox Live

Starting this fall Xbox live will feature a virtual console of sorts.  They will be offering classic Xbox titles for download.  They will cost about $15-$20 a piece.  These aren’t lame titles either.  Halo highlights the first games available.  As if no one owns that game!  I wonder how much data these things are?  I mean, the average Xbox owner has less than 20gigs so I gotta wonder how small they have compressed it.  I’ll keep you updated.  This is something significant for Xbox.  Not that there is a lack of anything, but downloadable legacy titles is always a plus for a system.  I must say out front that, no one is going to compete with the Wii’s virtual console.  It simply owns.  Stay tuned tomorrow for more game stuff.

I must apologize, if anyone actually follows this site, which I’m sure some of you do, for the lack of content.  The thing is, that we are humans, and we are a combo of busy, and lazy.  It’s just the way of life, but I’m going to change that.  There will be movement on this here site.  I promise you.  There is the fact that there are huge gaming websites elsewhere, and we are noobs to them.  But not anymore!  This site will be battling them until our name is known!  So please if you read our site, tell others about it, and please make some comments!  I think the only person who has commented ever is my sister.  Thats sad.  So this is a message telling everyone that change is coming to Clix games!

Just some words, and some Galaxies.

So it’s fall. Actually it’s almost winter sortof. This is the season for great games, and that statement is so true. This fall is one of the most hugest in video game history. A bevy of super cool games. Already we have seen, Warhawk, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Orange Box, Skate, Ratchet and Clank, Guitar Hero III, Fire Emblem, and Zelda. These are just some of the titles that have come out, I’m sure I missed a bunch. The great thing is that there is still a good chunk of fall left. As the weeks go on and the games come, I will hope to keep you updated. On the gaming radar today is one of the biggest games this year. Super Mario Galaxy is out. This game is insane, I can proudly say that and I haven’t even played any of it. The animation is slick, the gameplay is tight, and the experience is out of this world, pun intended. Mario is at his best, in space, jumping around like the little Italian he is. Galaxy brings new costumes into the picture, including a bee suit, a boo suit, a fire suit, ice suit, and many more. There are a plethora of galaxies to play, and a horde of stars to collect. This game may may be the best platformer since SMB 3! Mario’s games have been a little rough lately, what with all of the spinoffs, but this one makes up for it big time. I wonder what they are going to think of next? I can’t even think about it?

My apologies

Sorry, no review of Ratchet and Clank tonight.  The reason being, I haven’t beaten it yet.  I feel that that is something that is required to review a game.  I could rush through and beat it, but I didn’t pay 60 flippin bucks for a short experience.  So anyway, something that has been in my head in the realm of video games, Rpg’s, where are they?  Theres like none on any system.  Okay, there are, but not a lot.  You know, I think that since games are so much bigger and harder to make for the new systems, it just takes a long time.  Like Final Fantasy, and Fallout, even Fable.  I’m kindof sad, because I love a good rpg, and there aren’t very many good ones right now.   I think next year we will see alot.  Theres about fifty million remakes on the DS, and alot of announced rpg’s should be finished by next year.  Kudos to fire emblem for being the one sweet rpg I’ve seen in a while.  The only rpg in a while.  In a year.  In a deca….okay maybe not.  So yep thats it folks. You go Roy!

I am now a proud owner of a Playstation 3. I took the plunge and now am enjoying some nice gaming. The interface is slick, the system is beautiful, graphics are amazing, and the gameplay is all over the place depending what game you play. So far I have only played Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and its amazing. The first time I had ever played a Ps3 was incredible because I had never really seen any game in real life before, just videos on the net. I know gameplay is important, and it is, but let me tell you, the graphics look amazing, it went from the opening cutscene to the game and I was like, wait the movie stopped? I’ll give you a review tomorrow. I would suggest picking up a Ps3, its worth it. With a flood of great titles coming this fall, I should be set as a gamer.

Virtual Console 11/5/2007

Well honestly it’s purely coincidence that the day I decided to start posting again was the day that I have been waiting for for a long time.  Today’s virtual console release sent a chill down my back, a chill of nostalgia, of love, of all the things my childhood stood for.  Well maybe not all the things.  But it truely is a happy day.  Today, for the NES, Super Mario Bros. 3 came out (500 Wii points).  While many of us have played, and beat this game at least once in our lives.  Others have played much more than once.  Even though I own it for the gameboy I am still buying it for my Wii.  This game was the best.  If you don’t know about it, you need to go look it up because it would be to difficult for me to explain its awe.  Next on the VC list is Power Golf for the Turbo-grafx(600 Wii points).   Its a golf game, there is not much to say.  And finally on this amazing monday, Alien Soldier for the Sega (900 Wii points) Note that its 900 points, sometimes, for some reasons the prices are higher for some games.  This game is a side-scrolling shooter, kinda like contra.  With multiple weapons you can use and two different difficulty settings this game shouldn’t get old too quickly.  Well Today’s release of SMB3 was slightly expected seeing that its getting really close to the release of  Galaxy, which is going to kick butt.  But I’m still really glad that it came out.  Till next time keep rocking out and playing video games.
