A game in the Life of

Hey all of you that read our site.  So recently I’ve been on my XBOX 360 playing some Gears of War getting ready for Gears 2 (whenever that comes out) and also some Halo 3 multiplayer.  Man I sure do love a good round of Rockets or Pistols with no shields, thats also a lot of fun.  But mostly I’ve been playing my old school bulky grey Nintendo DS.  I actually prefer it over the DS Lites, they feel too fragile, specially when you are doing a drift in Mario Kart DS (good game by the way).  For the DS I’ve been playing Final Fantasy 4.  I just got it the other day and I’m not too far because I spent a good chunk of time leveling up my characters in order to beat that Octomouth thing in the beginning.  Then after I heard Tellah say,” You spoony bard!”  I saved it and stopped playing.  Many fanboys and even regular fans know whats behind “You spoony bard.”  Its quite possibly the most famous quote from the entire Final Fantasy series and now you can hear Tellah say it on the DS.  Its really a good game.  I was thinking about if it would be worth buying if you already owned it for the Advance and I’m still not sure if I would or not but if you have a DS and don’t have FFIV already I would advise playing it.   Well there you go, thats been a game in the life of Icarus here at Clix Games.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Personally I am really really looking forward to this game.  Last night I saw Clone Wars and wasn’t too impressed but certainly it was a star wars film that I needed to see.  The Forced Unleashed is a brand new story based on Darth Vader’s apprentice.  The story takes place between episode 3 and 4.  The developers wanted to make a game based on the force and they came up with Force Unleashed.  There are many force moves to chose from and most of them appear outrageously devastating.  In the game you will use the force(and your lightsaber) to destroy rouge Jedi per command of Darth Vader.  This is going to be released September 16 for the XBOX 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PSP.  Yes, I think this game is going to ROCK, I just hope it delivers

Tales of Hearts

Good evening everyone.  I have been away from my computer for a while and decided to get back to posting.  So I figured, why not start by posting about a new game in my favorite series?  Tales of Hearts is the newest Tales game being developed for the DS.  Details are slim now but we can assume that it will follow the usual Tales formula, great story, graphics, and battle system.  Namco always updates their battle system with each new installment, so it should be interesting to find out what they cooked up this time.  Maybe spicy soup.  As said before, this game will have awesome graphics, the backgrounds will be 3-D, the characters 2-D, and there will even be CGI cutscenes which I think is a first for a Tales game.  This is the third Tales game for the DS in Japan, and if it is released here, (please!!!!) it will be the first.  I wish I knew japanese so I could import all of these games.  Incase you didn’t know, there are a ton of Tales games unreleased here.  Thats it for now, can’t wait to post again!

My Zelda

I have received the Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.  Due to time limitations of my busy schedule, Ive only had like an hour to fool around with it, but so far it’s the best DS experience I have had.  Single player that is.  The games graphics are top noch.  I understand that the DS has its limits, but some games look all grainy and stuff.  This game seems to bypass that with very little bad graphicking.  In other words, it blows alot of other stuff out of the water.  I personally think they should make some 2-d Metroid, Zelda, and Mario on the DS.  Heck, even the Wii.  I was thinking, and wouldn’t 2-d games run insanely fast and smooth on a newer system like those?  I think it’s a no brainer.  I’m going to start a game studio and make 2-d games for the new systems.  Another thing on that note about the systems.  I was realizing how little time is in between each new console.  It seemed like yesterday that the ps2 and xbox etc, were top of the line.  Time just really flies I guess.  It’s been two years since the xbox 360 launched so that’s like another 3-4 right?  I think they should just stick with a system for longer.  I do really love how technology advances, its just a little heavy on your pocket.  I also missed out on staying up all night and waiting in line for any of the new ones.  Me and my fellow blogger, editor, whatever his/our title is, are going to be there next time, in a few or four years.  This has been a collection of things I’ve been storing in my brain today, thanks for listening.

The Dual Screen

Honestly, I haven’t played my DS a whole lot since like the springtime.  It’s been a while since I’ve actually played a game for more than a few minutes.  I still have a blue DS phatty.  It serves its purpose, and I really don’t feel the need to upgrade to a DS lite yet.  I’m waiting for a third model.  But since you came to this site for games and not my life story, lets move on.  This fall there are some pretty cool DS games coming out.  Ones that I might play.  I’ve gone over Zelda already and thats just around the corner.  Contra 4 is next.  It’s coming out in November and should be like alot of the other Contra games.  Hardcore to the pixel.  It now utilizes both screens (wow thats a big surprise) and I’m sure there will be some stylus interaction.  The graphics look sharp and colorful, and the shooting is aplenty.  It looks like a neat game, Konami is so good, except that I choose a new Castlevania over Contra anyday.  As I inquire about other future DS games I will let you know.
